reviews
From the Army to Your Driveway
Every business has a reason it exists. Mine is a bill I was handed at the worst possible moment — and the decision to never be the locksmith who wrote it.
"Craig, the professional who came out, provided top-notch service. He resolved my car key issue quickly and efficiently."
— Verified Google reviewThe Army years
Before locksmithing I served in the British Army. Discipline, working under pressure, and doing the job properly the first time — habits that never left.
The bill I never forgot
During service I lost my car keys and paid an extortionate price to get back on the road. No explanation, no options — just a bill I had to pay because I was stranded. I remember thinking whoever fixed it had every incentive to be fair, and chose not to be.
Training done properly
When I left the forces I trained formally rather than learning on the job: the Ofqual-regulated Highfield Level 3 Diploma for Automotive Locksmiths & Vehicle Security, plus the commercial locksmithing diploma alongside it — both awarded November 2024.
SERMI approval
Security-vetted and approved under SERMI, giving me authorised access to protected manufacturer security data for participating vehicle brands — the legitimate route into modern key and immobiliser work.
ADC Locksmith Liverpool Ltd
Founded in 2024, registered at Companies House (no. 15482296), and built on one rule: the price I quote before travelling is the price you pay. No call-out fee, no VAT.
Today
Over 1,000 jobs completed, rated 5.0 from 300+ Google reviews — most of them mentioning me by name, because I'm the only one who ever turns up.
Formally Trained, Not Just Self-Taught
Anyone can call themselves a locksmith — there's no legal licence required in the UK. That's exactly why paper matters. Mine is issued by Highfield Qualifications, an Ofqual-regulated awarding body, and independently verifiable.
Level 3 Diploma — Automotive Locksmiths & Vehicle Security
Covers vehicle entry, key programming and vehicle security systems to a nationally recognised standard — the qualification directly behind every job I do.

Level 3 Diploma — Commercial Locksmiths & Property Security
Broader security and locking-systems training completed alongside my automotive diploma. Today I focus entirely on vehicles across Liverpool and Merseyside.

ADC is me — no fleet, no dispatcher, no subcontractor turning up in my place. Day to day that covers emergency lockouts and non-destructive entry, full key replacement when every key's gone, programming new keys to the immobiliser, and smaller jobs like fob repairs or a spare key before you ever need one.
You Speak to Me
Call or WhatsApp and it's Craig who answers — the same person who'll do the work. I'll tell you honestly on the phone if a job isn't one for me, rather than finding out on your driveway.
Price Before I Travel
Exact quote agreed on the call — gain entry from £85, keys from £120. No call-out fee, no VAT, and the quote is the invoice.
Fixed at Your Location
Typically with you in about 30 minutes for entry across Liverpool and Merseyside — Bootle to Runcorn, Birkenhead to Kirkby — with most keys cut, programmed and tested in under an hour.
Professional Equipment, Every Job
Professional key-cutting, diagnostic and programming equipment carried in the van — and where a vehicle requires manufacturer software, I use the appropriate authorised system.
Vehicles covered: Ford, Vauxhall, Volkswagen, Mercedes-Benz, Renault, Citroën, Volvo and Mazda most often — see the full makes list. For Jaguar I offer gain entry only, not programming.
On a typical week that's a mix of all-keys-lost jobs, a snapped key extracted from an ignition barrel, a fob that's stopped syncing, and the odd rare key sourced through the dealer network — recently a VW key that came from Germany.
What Sets This Apart
- Ofqual-regulated Level 3 qualification, not informal training
- SERMI-authorised access to manufacturer security data
- One locksmith, start to finish — no subcontracting
- Non-destructive methods on every entry job
- Exact price confirmed before I travel
Frequently Asked Questions
Is it really you who comes out, every time?
Yes. ADC Locksmith Liverpool Ltd is a one-person operation — me. I don't subcontract jobs to other locksmiths or send a different technician than the one you spoke to on the phone. It's the main reason I can only take on so many jobs a day, and why I'd rather be upfront about timing than overpromise.
What does SERMI approval actually mean for me?
SERMI is a European vetting scheme that authorises locksmiths to access protected vehicle security data from participating manufacturers. Without it, a locksmith legally can't get the information needed to safely program certain keys or work with modern immobiliser systems on newer vehicles — SERMI approval means I can.
Why does your qualification say 'commercial' as well as 'automotive'?
I completed both Highfield Level 3 diplomas when I trained — automotive and commercial locksmithing — but I made the decision to focus entirely on vehicles. It's what I do best and where I can give Liverpool drivers the fastest, most reliable service.
Do you still do house or business locksmith work?
No — ADC is auto locksmith only. If you need a residential or commercial locksmith, I'm not the right call, and I'll tell you that honestly rather than take the job.
How is ADC different from a national call-centre locksmith network?
National networks route your call to whichever contractor is on their books nearest you — quality and pricing vary contractor to contractor. With ADC there's no network and no dispatcher: you call me directly, I quote the job myself, and I'm the one who turns up.
What if you can't help with my vehicle or the job?
I'll tell you on the phone, before you've committed to anything. Certain jobs — like Jaguar key programming — aren't ones I take on, and I'd rather point you in the right direction immediately than waste your time.
