Car Keys by Make — Most Vehicles on UK Roads
Transponder keys, remote fobs and smart keys cut and programmed at your location, matched to your manufacturer's specific key system — from Ford's Tibbe locks to VW's immobiliser generations.
Ten Makes, Each With Its Own Key System
Every manufacturer handles keys, transponders and immobilisers differently — which is why each make below has its own dedicated page with model-specific detail. Prices are confirmed on the phone against your exact vehicle before I travel.
Ford
Fiesta · Focus · Transit · KugaFord's Tibbe-style locks and long transponder history make it one of the most common callouts on Merseyside — from older Fiestas to current Transits and Kugas with proximity keys. Recent work includes a new Ford key programmed with genuine dealer software, coded and tested on site.
Ford car keys ›Vauxhall
Corsa · Astra · Vivaro · InsigniaCorsa and Astra keys are bread-and-butter jobs, and Vivaro van keys keep plenty of Liverpool trades moving. Vauxhall's immobiliser systems across generations are well within scope — replacement keys, spares and fob repairs alike.
Vauxhall car keys ›Volkswagen
Golf · Polo · Passat · TransporterVW's immobiliser generations each behave differently, and I work across them — including all-keys-lost jobs like a recent VW Polo where a new key was generated at the vehicle. One rare VW key even had to be sourced through VW's dealer network in Germany before programming here.
Volkswagen car keys ›Mercedes-Benz
A-Class · C-Class · Sprinter · VitoMany Mercedes models are covered, including Sprinter and Vito van keys — a common callout for couriers and trades. Mercedes key systems vary significantly by model and year, so call with your reg and I'll confirm yours specifically before quoting.
Mercedes-Benz car keys ›Renault
Clio · Mégane · Captur · TraficRenault's keycard system — the credit-card style key on Clios and Méganes — is a speciality of its own, alongside conventional Renault keys and Trafic van keys. Cards and keys cut, programmed and re-synced at your location.
Renault car keys ›Citroën
C3 · C4 · Berlingo · DispatchFrom C3s to Berlingo and Dispatch vans, Citroën keys and remotes are handled at the roadside — including the flip-key remotes that commonly wear at the blade pivot and the button membrane.
Citroën car keys ›Volvo
XC40 · XC60 · V40 · S60Volvo's key systems are more security-hardened than most volume brands, and it's a make I cover regularly — replacement keys, spares and fob issues across the XC and V ranges.
Volvo car keys ›Mazda
MX-5 · Mazda2 · Mazda3 · CX-5Mazda keys from older MX-5 blades through to current CX-5 proximity fobs — cut, programmed and tested on site, with the immobiliser updated so lost keys can't start the car.
Mazda car keys ›BMW
1 Series · 3 Series · X1 · X3BMW key work is handled case-by-case — coverage depends on the model, year and key system involved. Call with your registration and I'll tell you honestly on the phone whether yours is a job I can take on, before you commit to anything.
BMW car keys ›Audi
A1 · A3 · A4 · Q3Like BMW, Audi coverage depends on the specific model and immobiliser generation — some are straightforward, some aren't ones for me. One call with your reg gets you a straight answer and an exact price if it's a job I can do.
Audi car keys ›Other Makes — and One Honest Exception
The ten above are what I'm called to most — they're not the limit of what I cover.
Most Other Makes: Just Call
Hyundai, Kia, Nissan, Toyota, Peugeot, Fiat, SEAT, Škoda and more — many are routine jobs even without a dedicated page. Call 07731 544220 with your registration and I'll confirm coverage and an exact price in one call, before you commit to anything.
Jaguar: Entry Only, Not Programming
I'll open a locked Jaguar with non-destructive entry, but I don't take on Jaguar key programming — their key systems aren't ones I work with, and I'd rather tell you that here than on your driveway. For Jaguar keys, a main dealer or JLR specialist is the right call.
Authorised Access, Whatever the Badge
Modern key programming isn't guesswork — for participating manufacturers it requires security-vetted access to protected immobiliser data, which is exactly what SERMI approval provides.
The SERMI scheme governs locksmith access to manufacturers' protected security data — it launched for UK vehicles in April 2026, and approval under it separates authorised specialists from unvetted operators. Vehicle security standards across makes are independently tested by Thatcham Research. And whichever make you drive, a replacement key never changes your registration document — GOV.UK's V5C guidance covers what that document does and doesn't record.
Frequently Asked Questions
My make isn't listed — does that mean you can't help?
No — the ten listed are simply the makes I'm called to most. Hyundai, Kia, Nissan, Toyota, Peugeot, Fiat and plenty of others are routine jobs. One call with your registration gets a definite answer.
Do you need proof the vehicle is mine?
Yes — for key programming and all-keys-lost work I'll ask for ID and evidence you're entitled to the vehicle, such as the V5C or proof of ownership. It protects you as much as anyone: it's exactly what stops a stolen car getting a new key.
Can you do keyless / proximity keys?
For most of the listed makes, yes — smart keys and proximity fobs are programmed the same visit as conventional transponder keys. The exact answer is always model-specific, which is what the phone call confirms.
Why do prices differ so much between makes?
The key hardware itself varies enormously — a basic transponder blade and a keyless-entry smart fob are very different components — and some manufacturers' security systems take longer to program than others. That's why I quote against your exact vehicle, not a generic price list.
